CEO Sam Altman indicated that GPT-5 will incorporate various technologies, including features from the previously planned o3. OpenAI aims to optimize user experience by simplifying its models and enhancing usability, moving away from complex selections in ChatGPT. Additionally, the company plans to release GPT-4.5, code-named 'Orion', before launching GPT-5, alongside various subscription tiers offering increased capabilities.
We want to do a better job of sharing our intended roadmap, and a much better job simplifying our product offerings.
Altman also announced that OpenAI plans to offer unlimited chat access to GPT-5 at the 'standard intelligence setting,' subject to 'abuse thresholds.'
