Nvidia and OpenAI partnership is a catalyst for enterprise AI growth, says Wedbush's Dan Ives | Fortune
"the next era of intelligence,"
"create new AI breakthroughs and empower people and businesses with them at scale"
"This speaks to our view that the next three to six months will be defined by the second, third, and fourth derivatives of the AI Revolution playing out,"
"Big Tech will dominate, but these other areas are the winners in software, chips, energy, and infrastructure."
OpenAI and Nvidia formed a strategic partnership with Nvidia committing up to $100 billion to support next-generation AI infrastructure, including power capacity and data centers. The agreement requires deploying at least 10 gigawatts of Nvidia-powered systems, amounting to millions of GPUs, to develop and run advanced AI models, with a first phase expected in the second half of 2026. The companies will jointly align development roadmaps for OpenAI's software and models and for Nvidia's hardware and software platforms. Analysts view the deal as strengthening leadership, lowering OpenAI's credit risk, and accelerating downstream benefits across software, chips, energy, and infrastructure despite valuation concerns.
