Harnessing even a tiny fraction of the Sun’s energy could exceed current global energy use by orders of magnitude, motivating relocation of resource-intensive compute to space. The consolidation brings together rocket programmes, AI development (Grok), and social media assets, and both companies hold major US government contracts, including work with NASA, the Department of Defense and intelligence units.
