JetBrains launches its own AI code assistant
Briefly

JetBrains is launching its self-developed AI assistant designed to support developers more effectively. With the new version 2024.3, improvements enhance insights into IDE structures and AI project assistance.
The latest version of JetBrains tools presents an upgraded logical code structure display, allowing developers greater insight and organization for bug fixing processes. K2 mode is now out of beta.
Key improvements in the AI Assistant include the integration of advanced LLMs like Gemini 1.5 Pro and Google's Flash. Developers can still opt for existing OpenAI models.
Mellum, JetBrains' own AI developed to enhance developer experience, prioritizes context in code completion tasks. This makes it fast and intuitive but doesn't allow other LLMs for completion.
