Jensen Huang gives pro-America speech and praises Trump in Nvidia GTC keynote
"It's hard not to get sentimental and proud of America,"
"We're going through a platform shift,"
"That platform shift should be the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get back into the game. For us to start innovating with American technology."
"And yet, ever since the beginning of wireless, where we defined the technology, we defined the global standards, we exported American technology around the world can build on top of American technology and standards. It's been a long time since that has happened."
Nvidia opened its October GTC in D.C. with a pro-America sizzle reel that recapped major U.S. tech milestones. Jensen Huang began his keynote with "America" and described the AI race as an "Apollo moment," urging U.S.-led innovation and warning against foundational technology being built elsewhere. Nvidia announced a $1 billion investment in Nokia to develop 5G and 6G software and framed it as bringing telecommunications back to America. Huang called telecommunications the backbone of the economy, praised Donald Trump and named U.S. officials, and highlighted deals with the DOE to sustain American technology leadership.
