"Every single time I'm doing anything for a patient, it's going into the proprietary Akido database, and that's helping them," said Hochman. With Akido's software, Hochman says he's much more efficient, and saves a significant amount of time dealing with paperwork and recordkeeping.
Hochman makes weekly visits to this makeshift neighborhood of plywood encampments and busted-up campers. Like much of the unhoused population in Los Angeles and elsewhere, the 15 patients Akido cares for on this stretch of Long Beach Avenue suffer from an array of maladies, all made significantly worse by the lack of permanent, safe shelter.
