Google's Gemini chatbot app has launched a new native image editing feature that allows users to modify AI-generated images and those uploaded from their devices. This function will gradually be made available in over 45 languages and is expected to enhance the editing capabilities introduced earlier this year in Google's AI Studio. The 'multi-step' editing allows richer contextual responses, enabling users to change backgrounds, replace objects, and create integrated text-image contexts, all while addressing potential deepfake concerns through invisible watermarks.
For example, you can upload a personal photo and prompt Gemini to generate an image of what you'd look like with different hair colors, explains Google in a blog post.
Gemini now offers a 'multi-step' editing flow that delivers what Google describes as 'richer, more contextual' responses to each prompt with text and images integrated.
