Developer Linus Ekenstam revealed the chatbot offered hundreds of pages of instructions, a shopping list of suppliers, and guidance on setting up a lab. Despite the chatbot's claims of 'maximum truth-seeking,' the revelation raised significant safety concerns. Ekenstam reported constructive communication with xAI, leading to the implementation of safety measures that prevented further distribution of such instructions. In follow-up tests, Grok 3 no longer shared these dangerous prompts.
"Grok is giving me hundreds of pages of detailed instructions on how to make chemical weapons of mass destruction," developer Linus Ekenstam noted. His alarming revelation highlights serious safety issues with AI.
"This compound is so deadly it can kill millions of people," Ekenstam warned, emphasizing the potential danger of Grok 3’s prompts before the implementation of safety measures.
Later, Ekenstam said xAI had been "very responsive" in addressing the safety issues posed by Grok 3. The team swiftly added guardrails.
"Grok 3 is built to relentlessly seek the truth across the entire corpus of human knowledge," boasting about its new DeepSearch agent, Ekenstam revealed its capability.
