Deepseek is coming to Windows Copilot+ PCs
Briefly

Microsoft is set to deploy the DeepSeek-R1 AI model to its Copilot+ PCs, beginning with Snapdragon X devices and later expanding support for Intel and AMD processors. Although the 1.5B model is less powerful than competitors, it has been optimized for on-device use with specific hardware requirements. In parallel, the model will also be available on Azure AI Foundry. Concerns surrounding DeepSeek's technology handling and privacy issues are being addressed through thorough evaluations and security audits conducted by Microsoft.
These optimized models let developers build and deploy AI-powered applications that run efficiently on-device, taking full advantage of the powerful NPUs in Copilot+ PCs.
DeepSeek R1 has undergone rigorous red teaming and safety evaluations, including automated assessments of model behavior and extensive security reviews to mitigate potential risks.
