Data Security Risk: Analysis of AI Tools Reveals 84% Breached
Briefly

Recent surveys highlight a troubling trend where employees are increasingly using consumer-facing AI tools without proper oversight or security policies, risking organizational security. According to the Cybernews Business Digital Index, 84% of assessed AI tools have faced breaches, with only 33% receiving an A rating. This lack of consistent security leaves nearly three-quarters of employees vulnerable, as only 14% of organizations enforce robust AI security policies, heightening the potential for credential theft and data exposure.
"What is mostly concerning is the false sense of security many users and businesses may have," Vincentas Baubonis, Head of Security Research at Cybernews, remarks. "High average scores don't mean tools are entirely safe - one weak link in your workflow can become the attacker's entry point."
