Anthropic is introducing a beta feature to its Claude AI chatbot that allows users to create AI-powered apps directly within the platform. This upgrade builds on the previously launched Artifacts feature. Users can describe what they wish to create, and Claude will generate the corresponding code. The functionality aims to simplify app development, enabling users to build interactive games, learning tools, and workflows. Additionally, Anthropic is fostering a community by allowing app sharing while ensuring that others' API usage counts against their subscription, making it attractive for developers and users alike.
"Start building in the Claude app by enabling this new interactive capability," the company says in a blog post. "Simply describe what you want to create, and Claude will write the code for you."
Early users of the feature have built things like AI-powered games, learning tools, data analysis apps, writing assistants, and even agent workflows that 'orchestrate multiple Claude calls for complex tasks.'
The feature allows users to interact with Claude through an API, facilitating complex task management and interactions in various applications.
Anthropic encourages sharing of created apps, making it so API usage counts against the user’s subscription, facilitating a more collaborative environment.
