The company claims it is the largest Series B funding round ever secured in the UK and Europe. It was led by Norwegian industrial investment company Aker ASA, with support from the firm's existing shareholders, and tech firms Nokia and NVIDIA."
Nscale secured $1.1bn in Series B funding led by Aker ASA, with backing from Nokia, NVIDIA and existing shareholders. The company was spun out of Arkon Energy and has a UK headquarters, with most directors located overseas. Nscale plans a UK datacentre in Loughton, Essex, by late 2026 and a technology tie-up with Microsoft to create the UK's largest supercomputer at that site. Current investments include Norway and previous Arkon operations in Ohio. Funds will accelerate AI infrastructure deployment across Europe, North America and the Middle East, support OpenAI Stargate projects, and expand engineering and operations teams to grow enterprise and government customers.
