Bjorn Ulvaeus is using artificial intelligence to assist in writing a new musical, nearing completion. Although he acknowledges that AI struggles with full song composition and lyrics, he finds it valuable for overcoming creative blocks. At SXSW London, Ulvaeus stressed that AI serves as a collaborator, expanding his creative possibilities. He shared his previous success with technology in the ABBA Voyage concert, emphasizing that digital innovations can enhance music experiences and drive industry evolution, while also touching on concerns regarding copyright protections for artists amidst rising tech influence.
Ulvaeus described AI as a collaborator in his songwriting, stating, "It's fantastic. It is such a great tool, I have access to things that I didn't think of before."
He noted the limitations of AI, commenting, "it was lousy at writing a whole song and very bad at lyrics but was helpful whenever I reached a creative impasse."
