As we move into the latter part of the decade, we will see the big convergence of these strands of the cyber threat landscape. The supply chain has become one of our biggest threats, driven not only by technology providers who prioritize market delivery over security, but also by geopolitical tensions that manifest in the cyber domain. This convergence will result in significant disruptions and harm, exacerbated by the failure to address these threats.
The laissez-faire approach of technology providers has led to an alarming number of breaches driven by supply chains. Governance fails to recognize the digital environment as critical national infrastructure, leading to a reliance on External Attack Surface Management and vulnerability intelligence programs, as organizations scramble to shore up security that should have been built-in from the start.
