Arsenal is focusing on bolstering its squad ahead of the 2025/26 season, with Nico Williams emerging as a prime target for Mikel Arteta. At just 22 years old, Williams is ranked 25th among the world's best players and has scored 11 goals in La Liga this season. The club's pursuit intensified with the news that Barcelona, previously interested in Williams, has shifted its focus elsewhere. This could facilitate a potential move for Williams, as Arsenal aims to strengthen its forward line after a struggle during the last campaign.
"Nico Williams was one of the candidates last season, but we decided on [Dani] Olmo and other options are currently being considered," said Barcelona chief Joan Laporta.
With fellow La Liga star Martin Zubimendi already rumoured to be on his way to the Emirates Stadium, Mikel Arteta is wasting no time in making his intentions clear ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
