'Oversight' on goalkeepers catches Scotland short
Briefly

Head coach Steve Clarke acknowledges a notable absence of quality emerging goalkeepers in Scotland, especially with 42-year-old Craig Gordon sidelined. Angus Gunn, a free agent and previous first-choice keeper, returns for friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein. Clarke humorously remarks on the demand for Scottish goalkeeping talent, noting that young goalkeepers haven't achieved the same level as Gordon, Marshall, and McGregor. He initiates a plan to scout four young goalkeepers across youth teams to find future talent and address this oversight in development.
Since we had Craig, David Marshall and Allan McGregor, we haven't quite had the same quality coming through. It's something we should have picked up on a few years ago.
We have a crop of younger ones and you don't know how they are going to progress... some 18, 19, 20-year-olds might get some minutes on the pitch and get a chance to play more regularly.
In March, I said to the coaches of the 17s, 19s and 21s to try and pick four goalkeepers, so you're looking at more and putting them in against their peers.
Scottish grannies are in big demand... it's probably an oversight.
