
Arsenal want to modernize Emirates Stadium despite it being only about 20 years old. The club plans to add around 20,000 seats to the current official capacity of 60,704, with an estimated cost of about £500m, following a Premier League title triumph. Stan Kroenke says the renovations will preserve the stadium’s character while creating an elevated matchday experience for Arsenal supporters. Talks are underway, led by chief executive Richard Garlick, though no formal permission has been granted yet. With around 100,000 fans on a season ticket wait list, the expansion is expected to provide future revenue. Competition from nearby Tottenham’s newer stadium also pressures Emirates Stadium’s appeal for alternative uses such as conferences.
