Playing in Europe's top club competition has been the objective since they dropped out of it in 2017, and rejoining the continental elite after five years in the Europa League and another out of the UEFA tournaments entirely could have been daunting. Instead, after landing an admittedly favourable group, that has been where Arsenal have truly been able to strut their stuff this season.
Even so, the whole month of April was an ordeal. After thrashing Leeds United 4-1, Arsenal drew three successive matches, bleeding all the momentum out of their title charge before travelling to championship rivals Manchester City at the end of that month.
