Arsenal bring in Aaron Ramsdale, Jorginho and Reiss Nelson for David Raya, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli. Liverpool make four changes, all enforced: Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott, Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo replace Virgil van Dijk (ill), Dominik Szoboszlai, Endo and Mo Salah (international duty).
The FA Cup remains Mikel Arteta's only trophy as Arsenal manager, and the goodwill from that success may have saved his job when Arsenal were 15th in the league on Christmas Day 2020. The following season Liverpool came within a couple of games of a quadruple, and the domestic cup runs helped generate an almost irresistible momentum. Until then Jurgen Klopp never seemed too bothered about the FA Cup, but now with Liverpool also in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup he is up for another busy spring.
