Charles Watts highlights Morgan Rogers as an exceptional talent, potentially a great signing for Arsenal, but questions remain about the likelihood of a deal. After a strong 2024/25 season performance, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists, Rogers's future seems bright. However, his best position—central attacking midfield—doesn't align well with Arsenal's current needs. The pressure on Aston Villa to sell key players after falling short of Champions League qualification might play a role in any potential transfer, but the fit within Arsenal's system is still uncertain.
Morgan Rogers is an exceptional talent who could make a fine signing for Arsenal, but I’m not sure how likely a deal is.
Rogers finished the 2024/25 season with 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions, and there’s surely even more to come from the former Middlesbrough ace.
The expectation is that Aston Villa might have some PSR difficulties that they will have to navigate this summer having failed to qualify for the Champions league.
The one issue I have with a potential move, however, is I’m not sure exactly where he fits in this team and system under Mikel Arteta.
