iPad users have reported that new iPad Pros with Apple's M4 chip have turned off and could not be restarted after starting to install iPadOS 18.
Some affected users noted that their devices could not be restarted using recovery mode, and that normal restart options did not work.
One user stated at the Apple store that the update fried the motherboard, describing it as a badly tested update.
Apple has confirmed that the update has been pulled for M4 iPad Pro models as it struggles to fix the unexpected bug.
