Konstantin's findings indicate that typing a string matching the regular expression pattern ^".*": in certain iPhone search fields can crash the Springboard.
ZDNET confirmed this bug affects both Settings app and App Library search bar, causing a return to the lock screen on iPhones running iOS 17.
While the issue occurs on iOS 17, iOS 18 beta exhibits different behavior by crashing Settings but not affecting the App Library.
