The iPhone 16e is designed for users stuck with older models like the iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X who want a straightforward upgrade. Despite its solid battery performance, some features like MagSafe and ultra-wideband are missing. The $599 price tag seems steep considering the competition and creates confusion within Apple’s lineup, especially since it costs more than the discontinued iPhone SE. While it shines in battery longevity, users may find better value in the iPhone 15 or 15 Pro models.
Considering this is a 6.1-inch iPhone, which historically perform the lowest in battery tests, this is a welcome surprise. With average use over the past week, I struggled to bring the phone below 50 percent.
The price of the iPhone 16e feels $100 too high considering the many excellent competing phones in this bracket, making the iPhone lineup confusing.
