Apple warns US tariffs will cost it $900m, maybe more later
Briefly

In its Q2 2025 earnings report, Apple revealed a revenue of $95.4 billion, with a 5% year-over-year increase. Despite strong earnings, CEO Tim Cook announced that new U.S. tariff policies may cost Apple at least $900 million in the next quarter. The company is restructuring its supply chain, sourcing more components domestically and manufacturing many products in India and Vietnam to mitigate tariffs on products made in China. However, Cook remains uncertain on future production dynamics as tariff implications are difficult to predict.
Almost all iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and AirPods products sold in the USA are now made in either India or Vietnam, which have lighter tariffs than China.
During calendar year 2025, we expect to source more than 19 billion chips from a dozen states, including tens of millions of advanced chips being made in Arizona this year.
