Apple has settled a class action lawsuit concerning swollen batteries in early Apple Watch models, setting aside $20 million for claims. This lawsuit alleged that these batteries violated consumer protections and warranties. The affected models include the Apple Watch (First Generation), Series 1, Series 2, and Series 3. While Apple admitted no wrongdoing, eligible claimants can expect payouts between $20 to $50 per watch, depending on the number of claims filed. Models after Series 3 are excluded from the settlement.
As part of the settlement, Apple has agreed to set up a $20 million settlement fund from which settlement claimants can receive compensation.
