Recent reports indicate Apple is developing two new models of its Studio Display, with code-named J427 and J527. Mark Gurman notes that it has been three years since the original 27-inch Studio Display debuted and two years since the Pro Display XDR was released. Considering the age of current models, it's speculated that Apple may either choose to launch one of the models or release both with varying specifications or sizes.
Sources have told me Apple is working on a second new monitor alongside an update to the 2022 Studio Display, with code-names J427 and J527.
It’s been three years since the introduction of the $1,599 27-inch Studio Display and twice that for the $5,000 Pro Display XDR.
Gurman suggests that Apple may be deciding between developing both monitors or launching one with a different screen size or specifications.
