In the iOS 18 beta, Apple Maps displays a new 'Search Here' button after you search for things like coffee shops or restaurants and then shift the map to a new area.
Apple Maps still auto-refreshes as you move around, but at least you no longer need to cancel your search or frantically zoom in and out repeatedly, hoping for a response without direct control.
The 'Search Here' button in Apple Maps is similar to the 'Search this area' button that Google Maps has had for a long time, offering more user control over search results.
Apple Maps in iOS 18 also includes upgrades like support for navigating trails and introduces a web version of the app in beta.
