Wrightbus introduced a second-generation Electroliner battery-electric range offering longer range, faster charging, improved heating and cooling, extended battery life and a longer warranty. The range comprises the single-deck Electroliner Kite and the double-deck StreetDeck Electroliner fitted with the Voith VEDS1.5 driveline (Driventic) and CATL battery packs under an exclusive initial agreement. Single-deck options of 528kWh or 442kWh deliver up to 375 miles; the double-deck 442kWh offers around 275 miles. Charging takes 75 minutes at 380kW and batteries carry a 15-year warranty. Operators are estimated to see an 11% reduction in total cost of ownership. Wrightbus has secured partnerships and £150 million financing while forecasting increased production and service numbers through 2026.
"More than 900 Generation 2 vehicles have already been sold, and the company expects almost 1,100 to be in service across the UK and Ireland by the end of 2026"
