"Meanwhile, the cost of taking a shuttle bus from New York City to the World Cup venue has also been reduced. The cost of shuttle bus tickets to and from matches will be reduced from the initial $80 round-trip price to $20, New York Governor"
New Jersey and New York reduced commuter transportation costs for travel to the joint World Cup venue at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. NJ Transit round-trip train tickets to the stadium will cost $98 instead of $150 for the return fare. The $98 price applies during World Cup matches hosted in New Jersey and is intended to lower costs without using New Jersey taxpayer money. The $98 fare remains higher than the regular $13 round trip from New York City’s Penn Station. NJ Transit said transporting fans would cost $62 million during the tournament and that outside grants covered $14 million. New York also reduced shuttle bus round-trip tickets from $80 to $20 for match days.
