Waymo is set to grow its fleet of autonomous Jaguar I-Pace vehicles, adding 2,000 to its current 1,500 by the end of 2026. Although Jaguar discontinued the I-Pace last year, Waymo continues to utilize the model, which debuted in 2018 as one of the first electric vehicles outside Tesla. The company has established a new facility in Mesa, Arizona, in collaboration with Magna to outfit these vehicles with autonomous technology and plans further integration of various EV models, solidifying its status as a leader in self-driving services across major U.S. cities.
Waymo's expansion plan includes an additional 2,000 Jaguar I-Pace EVs for its fleet, enhancing its position as America's frontrunner in self-driving technologies.
As of now, Waymo operates 1,500 I-Pace vehicles across multiple U.S. cities, significantly boosting its commitment to driverless taxi services.
