Bergkvara placed an order for 47 Volvo 8900 Electric battery-electric buses for public transport in Skåne. The buses will operate on local and regional routes under contract with Skånetrafiken, serving intercity passengers across Skåne and city services in Trelleborg. The Volvo 8900 Electric, launched in 2024, is part of Volvo Buses’ battery-electric portfolio that includes other electric models and platforms. The contract covers 4×2 and 6×2 configurations with five or six battery units. Delivery is scheduled to enter service by the end of 2027, with supporting products and services included.
