TRM project in Parma: what the new trolleybus line will look like
Briefly

Parma is implementing a €70 million TRM project to expand its trolleybus network with an 8km line connecting the railway station to the University Campus. This initiative is aimed at optimizing public transport, particularly for students traveling from various locations. The new line will include 70% reserved lanes for efficient service and feature modern trolleybuses accommodating up to 1,700 passengers per hour. Enhanced infrastructure and frequent service intervals will significantly improve transportation in the city, reflecting Parma's commitment to meeting citizens' travel needs.
The € 70 million project envisages the construction of a new trolleybus line approximately 8 km long, which will be integrated with the other four in the Parma network.
It will thus be possible to reach the Campus from the station and the centre in a few minutes, facilitating the movements of the many students who also come from the province.
The route will be 70% in the reserved lane, with appropriate traffic lights, and a 5-minute frequency is planned, so as to guarantee a commercial speed of at least 24 km/h.
