Fiat has begun production of a gas-powered version of its iconic 500 model, known as the 500 Hybrid, as the all-electric variant has seen disappointing sales figures. The company plans to initiate full-scale production by November, aiming for at least 100,000 sales annually. The electric 500e, which was launched five years ago with an entirely electric design, struggled to gain traction primarily due to its high price, costing over $37,000. The new hybrid version retains much of the original design while integrating a combustion engine to attract consumers.
