Rivian has announced that it will offer performance and range enhancements for its R1S and R1T electric vehicles through software updates, confirming a shift from the traditional one-time purchase model to over-the-air upgrades. Under the upcoming version 2025.06, owners will be able to unlock a Performance upgrade, boosting power from 533 hp to 665 hp and improving torque. Additionally, EVs with the 'Large+' battery pack will be eligible for a range extension. However, pricing models for these upgrades remain unclear, pending further announcements.
