Ram's Two Electric Trucks Just Got Delayed Again
Briefly

Ram has postponed the release of its electric and extended-range hybrid trucks, with the Ramcharger now projected for early 2026 and the fully electric Ram 1500 REV for summer 2027. Slow demand for full-size electric pickups is cited as the primary reason for these delays. The Ram 1500 Ramcharger, being the first extended-range electric truck, is anticipated to combine the advantages of traditional gasoline and electric pickups. Stellantis, the parent company, is also facing industry-wide challenges as electrification plans are adjusted in response to demand fluctuations and potential policy changes.
The Ram 1500 REV, the brand's fully electric truck, is getting pushed until the summer of 2027, a Stellantis spokeswoman confirmed to the outlet.
The innovative Ram 1500 Ramcharger is set to be in a league of its own when it hits the market as America's first extended-range electric truck.
If the federal government successfully cuts key pro-EV policies like the federal clean-car tax credits, that trend could accelerate.
Stellantis is just one of many automakers that has shifted its electrification plans in the face of weaker-than-expected demand growth for EVs.
