Olympics water taxi service between Long Beach to San Pedro takes a step forward
Briefly

Los Angeles County is moving forward with a feasibility study for a water taxi service aimed at transporting attendees between San Pedro and Long Beach for the 2028 Olympics. Introduced by County Supervisor Janice Hahn, the initiative aims to alleviate traffic and provide an alternative to buses and trains, reinforcing a transit-first approach. The proposed service would enhance accessibility and convenience during the games, where Long Beach is hosting multiple events. The study will evaluate demand and logistics, with results expected in 90 days.
If we're serious about the 2028 games being transit-first, we must make transit safe, accessible, reliable and fun for people, and we can't only rely on our buses and trains.
This motion... will assess ridership demand, cost and possible routes for a water taxi between San Pedro and Long Beach to accommodate Olympic visitors.
