My favorite way to bike in Golden Gate Park
Briefly

Golden Gate Park provides an extensive bike path experience without vehicle traffic. JFK Way and Overlook Way form a seven-mile round trip with an enjoyable coast to the ocean and a gentle climb back. Entering at Stanyan and Haight provides access to JFK Promenade, a 1.5-mile car-free zone filled with art installations, gardens, and playful activities. The road’s permanent closure to cars was supported by local voters due to its recreational value and enhanced enjoyment for cyclists and pedestrians.
The JFK Promenade is a glorious 1.5-mile car-free stretch that's been blissfully vehicle-free since 2020, featuring giant art installations and outdoor musical instruments.
Two notable routes, JFK Way and Overlook Way, stretch across Golden Gate Park at seven miles round trip, providing an effortless coast to the ocean.
