Keolis is the first operator in North America to receive ISO 39001 certification for Road Traffic Safety Management Systems, enhancing transit safety and reducing injuries.
"We're constantly evolving our training methods, management processes, and technologies to further improve road traffic safety performance," Keolis COO of U.S. Transit, Brad Thomas said.
According to a press release: "Keolis' safety and security practices improve road safety for passengers, employees, and other road users and are fundamental to Keolis' operation of transit services."
The ISO 39001 standard is based on a safe system approach to eliminate road fatalities and serious injuries, emphasizing the design of traffic systems around human factors.
