On May 5, 2025, Genoa's AMT launched its first Solaris trolleybus, part of a EUR 100.8 million investment to modernize public transport and enhance sustainability. The fleet comprises 112 zero-emission Solaris Trollino 18 buses, equipped with IMC technology that allows for dual power operation. Designed for passenger comfort, each vehicle features 36 seats, accessibility provisions, and modern amenities. Following rigorous testing, the trolleybus will start service on vital urban routes, replacing older models as part of the city's broader green revolution strategy supported by the PNRR.
The Solaris Trollino 18 trolleybus, with a capacity of 133 passengers, has entered service in Genoa, marking a significant milestone in the city's green transportation efforts.
Backed by an investment of EUR 100.8 million, the project aims to modernize Genoa's trolleybus fleet, focusing on zero-emission technology and enhancing passenger comfort.
