Southeastern is streamlining its station car park operations utilizing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. Passengers will no longer need to return to their cars to display parking permits purchased from vending machines. This change enhances convenience, particularly as payment options evolve. Customers using APCOA or phone payment methods will experience no change. The rollout starts on February 24, 2023, and aims for complete implementation by March 2025 across selected stations, following a previous pause for cash payment integrations.
The changes to how Southeastern's car parks operate aim to streamline the parking ticket process for passengers, enhancing convenience and efficiency.
By utilizing Automatic Number Plate Recognition, passengers can now buy their parking tickets without the need to return to their cars, making the experience smoother.
This phased introduction of ANPR technology will begin on February 24th and is set to fully launch at all selected stations by March 2025.
To maintain a consistent experience, payment options and enforcement methods will be standardized across Southeastern's car parks, regardless of ANPR availability.
