Audi Turned The Q6 E-Tron Into An Off-Roader With Portal Axles
Briefly

Audi has unveiled the Q6 E-Tron Offroad Concept, showcasing modified features for off-road capability. While the standard Q6 E-Tron excels as a luxury electric crossover, this concept includes purpose-built portal axles that elevate the vehicle’s height and significantly enhance torque. Specifically, the modifications result in a combined torque of nearly 9,900 pound-feet, although at the cost of maximum speed, capped at 108 mph. Developed as a prototype, the enhancements enable the Q6 to tackle challenging terrains while retaining much of its electric powertrain's characteristics.
First off, it has portal axles that raise the ride height of the EV by 6.3 inches (160 millimeters) and increase torque at the wheel by 50% compared to the standard coupe-like electric crossover.
This concept can deliver a combined torque of up to 9,883 pound-feet (13,400 Newton meters) for a 10-second peak, an increase of 3,245 lb-ft (4,400 Nm) over the production car.
