Ampler, renowned for its reliable e-bikes, has launched the Nova e-bike featuring a USB-C charging port, enhancing convenience for eco-conscious users. Unveiled at Cyclingworld, this innovative model stands out as it addresses common charging difficulties by allowing users to charge their bikes with widely used chargers. Offered in two variants—base and Pro, the Nova integrates 48V 336Wh batteries that charge faster than traditional options. This strategic standardization of charging ports could lead to less e-waste, appealing to markets in Europe and potentially the US.
While the idea might seem like an April Fool's joke, this is not. Ampler revealed the Nova e-bike at the Cyclingworld, which is Europe's finest bike and ebike show.
Standardizing the port eliminates redundancy and reduces e-waste, which all goes well for the planet. The electric bike will be sold in Europe for starters, but given its distinct appeal, users in the US and other regions will be eyeing the Nova.
Both versions come integrated with 48V 336Wh integrated batteries that can be charged via the USB-C PD 3.1 charger in approximately three hours. That is impressive, as batteries the same size charged with contemporary connectors take almost five hours to max out.
The 140 W charger can also juice your power-hungry gadgets, and if you've got a suite of fast charging devices, they'll be charged at a normal speed of 15W.
