Watch: Emotional allegri carries torch ahead of Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics
"The Olympic Flame continues its journey ahead of the Winter Olympics which start soon on February 6th and run until the 22nd, something which has already caused logistical issues for Milan surrounding the Como home game given the opening ceremony is at San Siro. It was confirmed recently that the Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri had been selected as one of the lucky people who get to carry the flame, and he appeared visibly moved this morning, as MilanNews recall."
"Allegri carried it briefly through the streets of Borgomanero, a small city in the Province of Novara in the Italian region of Piedmont. He had said a few days ago: "I'm delighted with the Olympic flame; it will be a thrill and a wonderful experience. I thank CONI for giving me this opportunity." The Olympic Flame is en route to the Winter Olympics scheduled February 6–22, creating scheduling issues in Milan because the opening ceremony at San Siro overlaps a Como home game. Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri was chosen as a torchbearer and took part in the relay in Borgomanero, in the Province of Novara, Piedmont. Allegri appeared visibly moved during his brief participation in the relay and publicly thanked CONI, calling the experience a thrill and a wonderful opportunity. A social media post captured the moment and identified Allegri as an exceptional torchbearer for Milano Cortina 2026.
