Video: House Tour | Francesco Vezzoli
Briefly

In his House Tour video, artist Francesco Vezzoli presents his Milan apartment and studio, showcasing a remarkable collection of Memphis Group furniture and Giovanni Gariboldi's midcentury vases. He discusses his dislike for natural light, stating his preference for artificial lighting to create a unique atmosphere. Reflecting on his past, Vezzoli shares how his upbringing in a less artistic Milan influenced his fascination with Italian designers. He humorously describes creating a muselike figure inspired by De Chirico and Sophia Loren, while expressing a deep appreciation for his unique aesthetic choices in interior design.
Milan was not so much an artistic city at the end of the 90s. If you were a young kid from the province and you were looking for living examples of stars, you could find them among the designers, among the architects.
I’m not much of a fan of natural light. I do believe in artificial interiors in recreating, in your own environment, some sort of fantasy. I’m a sweet vampire.
Of course, I wanted to have my own muse in my own apartment. And when I think of muses, I think of De Chirico. So, it’s a De Chirico muse, but with the face of Sophia Loren.
