Carlo Acutis, who passed away at 15 from leukemia, is recognized as the first millennial to be canonized as a saint. Pope Leo XIV announced his canonization set for September 7, alongside Pier Giorgio Frassati. Acutis's rapid path to sainthood, taking just 19 years, contrasts sharply with historical norms. His mother described him as an ordinary child, highlighting his extraordinary dedication to his faith through daily Mass and outreach initiatives. Acutis used technology to spread his beliefs, reflecting a unique blend of modernity and tradition in his approach to faith.
He used to say, 'There are queues in front of a concert, in front of a football match, but I don't see these queues in front of the Blessed Sacrament.'
At 7, he began attending Mass every day. Though his parents weren't especially devout at the time, Acutis prayed the rosary and helped bring his parents, friends, relatives and others back to the church.
