Player Ratings: Roma 1-1 AC Milan - De Winter steps up; Leao struggles

"AC Milan came away with a point from their game against Roma at Stadio Olimpico. Koni De Winter was the unexpected goalscorer and below are the player ratings for the Rossoneri. "Maignan (7): The goalkeeper was forced to make quite a lot of saves, especially in the first half, but he mostly relied on good positioning to make the stops. There was one very advanced save, though, as he kept out Celik's quick effort thanks to his reflexes. Tomori (6): While it's true that Roma created a lot in and around Milan's box, the Englishman did enough in my book to get a pass here. Some things could have been done better, but he also had some good moments in both phases of the game."

"Gabbia (5.5): This might sound harsh, seeing as he did grow into the game and ultimately was decent, but he struggled to control Malen tonight. That could perhaps be said for his colleagues too but as the leader at the back, you need to make sure the striker isn't left free multiple times. De Winter (7 - MOTM): I said before the game, more specifically in the key battles piece, that he would need to get physical with Dybala and I think he did that. Defensively, as such, he did what he could and the goal was very nice (using his size very well)."

AC Milan earned a point in a 1-1 draw at Stadio Olimpico with Koni De Winter scoring the equaliser. Mike Maignan made several important saves, relying on positioning and a crucial reflex stop to deny Celik. Fikayo Tomori offered adequate defensive contributions despite Roma creating chances. Matteo Gabbia initially struggled to contain Malen but improved as the match progressed. De Winter used physicality effectively against Dybala and converted a goal with good use of his size. Alexis Saelemaekers endured a difficult night under heavy booing and made costly errors. Davide Ricci covered ground and distributed the ball decently.
