Milan gradually recovered and equalised in the 33rd minute after Filippo Plazzotta's cross found Lorenzo Ossola unmarked in the penalty area. Early in the second half Filippo Scotti led a counter-attack and Alex Castiello's shot struck the crossbar and was saved. Fiorentina dominated late possession and created chances, but Milan held on for a crucial point while sitting ninth in the standings.
