Sergio Conceicao expressed concern about the negative effect of fan protests on AC Milan players following a 2-1 defeat to Lazio, marking the team's third consecutive loss in Serie A. He noted a distinctive hostile atmosphere, unprecedented in his career, which amplified player mistakes. Despite a late equalizer from Samuel Chukwueze, a last-minute penalty allowed Lazio to secure victory. Conceicao urged players to focus on hard work and club pride to overcome this challenging situation, while AC Milan currently sits ninth in the league, facing increasing pressure as results falter.
"We discussed the atmosphere and this is the first time I've experienced this in my career. Mistakes weigh heavier under such conditions," Conceicao told DAZN.
"It is not an easy moment. The players feel the tension around the club. The only way forward is to work hard, take pride in our colours, and strive to change the situation," the Rossoneri boss added.
