A Ryanair Boeing 737 Max suffered tire bursts upon landing at Milan Bergamo Airport, damaging the runway and causing the airport to close operations for at least nine hours.
Images on social media depicted an extensive scratch, nearly 500 yards long, and about a centimeter in depth, showcasing the runway damage linked to the incident.
Ryanair confirmed that despite the tire issue, all 161 passengers disembarked safely, and the aircraft is currently undergoing inspection and servicing to resume operations.
The airport stated that operations were suspended for at least nine hours, significantly disrupting flights, with approximately 12% of departing flights canceled due to the incident.
