The Atlanta Braves acquired Yonny Chirinos to fill the fifth spot in their rotation but he was ineffective and finished the season on the Injured List.
Chirinos was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays in July and had barely pitched in the previous years due to elbow issues.
The Braves had low expectations for Chirinos and hoped he could provide replacement-level pitching, but he struggled in his five starts and ended the season on the Injured List.
